When I was writing my first few books, I was working full time, single parenting, and having a long, slow nervous breakdown.
I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and my day job was in educational curriculum development for adult learners. Basically, I was a career expert in online learning for adult students with jobs and families. After years of double-fisting my two careers, education and writing, I had developed a method that allowed me to publish two books a year while working full time, commuting, and parenting without going full Girl, Interrupted. (That reference is for my fellow 90s kids.)
Once I was able to quit my day job and write full time, I did what I’d been wanting to do for ages and put this into online courses. I wanted to give back to the writing community and use all I had learned in my education career to help other working writers like myself. This combines not just what worked for me but strategies I learned from other working published authors.
